First understand why the source is PNG
PNG is often used for transparency, logos, icons, screenshots and images with crisp text. If the source contains only photographic pixels and no transparency, lossy WebP is usually worth testing. If it contains alpha, flat colors or small text, test lossless WebP first or keep PNG. Do not apply one quality value to every file simply because the extensions match.

Does PNG to WebP keep the transparent background?
WebP supports alpha transparency, but you should still inspect the exported edges on light and dark backgrounds. BatchMint does not intentionally fill transparent pixels with white during a WebP conversion.
Should I choose lossy or lossless WebP?
Test lossless WebP for logos, icons, text screenshots and crisp flat graphics. Compare lossy WebP for photographs. The final choice should be based on the real destination and a visual review.
Are images uploaded during batch conversion?
No. BatchMint processes selected images in browser workers; image bytes, filenames and watermark text are not included in BatchMint application network requests.
