Batch resize Shopify product images

Use a consistent maximum width, format, background and naming pattern before uploading files to Shopify yourself.

What Shopify's official image page says

The Shopify Help Center page checked July 17, 2026 supports JPEG, progressive JPEG, PNG, GIF, HEIC and WebP for the documented theme-image workflow. It states that Shopify can deliver modern formats such as WebP and AVIF according to browser support.

The same page says theme image uploads cannot exceed 20 megapixels or 20MB and notes that product-image limits can differ. It also says manual compression is not required before upload. Always check the current product-media rules in Shopify Admin for the exact destination.

Use resizing for consistency, not an invented universal size

Themes crop and display media differently. A single 2048-pixel preset can be a practical internal workflow, but it is not a universal Shopify requirement. Preserve aspect ratio and test the active theme's product grid, zoom and mobile layout.

Avoid upscaling small supplier images.
Keep important product content away from edges that themes may crop.
Use sRGB-compatible output and inspect color after upload.

Shopify delivery can differ from your uploaded file

Shopify's CDN can transform and compress images for storefront delivery. The local file produced by BatchMint is therefore an upload source, not a guarantee of the exact bytes or format eventually delivered to every customer.

How local browser processing works

Selected product images are decoded, resized and encoded in browser workers. BatchMint does not connect to Shopify Admin and does not upload prepared files. You review and upload the exported files yourself under Shopify's current product-media and theme rules.

Selected images, filenames and watermark text are not sent to a BatchMint processing server. The browser still requests the site code, styles and codec assets used on demand.
